Public referendum should mandatory!!!

On Wednesday the cabinet has sent a clear signal that if the draft

charter is accepted by the National Reform Council (NRC) ,

it should be put to referendum.

The referendum will be made mandatory to put an end to the issue

and it likely to take place in January next  year said Mr Wissanu

Krea-ngam Deputy Prime Ministry.

Meanwhile ,The Constition Drafting Committee (CDC) is being

urged to come up with the draft charter to guarantee the balance

of power between the executive, legislature and judiciary.

If the draft charter is accepted by the NRC,it will be asked to

write organic laws supporting it and dissolved on the day the

House convenes after fresh election.

However the draft charter once ready ,will be submitted to the

National Legislative Assembly (NLA) for consideration.

The NLA vice president Surachai Liangboonlerchai said

A good charter must lay down rules that keep the three

branches functioning properly ,otherwise conflict will

intensity. A good charter should also protect the

 people ‘s right,promote public participation,guarantee

independent judges and address the role of law ,he said.

In my viewpoint ,if the public referendum has mandatory,

it will guarantee all the process will be meet to the public

referendum and the time line for the new election can be

estimated and set correctly.

The new charter should lay down framework to reform and

promote reconciliation and should  have the room  to solve

the problem  after its enforcement.

The main propose of the draft charter is to lead to true democracy

so everything that is worth for true democracy should be add

and implement  until we get the new constitution

Hope for sound constitution that lead to true democracy.

Best Wish.
