PM lets Udomdej 'decide his own fate'

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Wednesday it is up
to Deputy Defence Minister Udomdej Sitabutr to decide his
fate amid growing calls for him to step down while insisting
that the Rajabhakti Park investigation has to run its course.

Gen Prayut said alleged irregularities surrounding the Rajabhakti
Park project are being investigated and Gen Udomdej knows
what actions to take as the probe takes its course.

"There are procedures to follow and he can think for himself,"
 Gen Prayut said.

"But some people just can't and they don't even accept the laws.

Let the investigation proceed. I've never obstructed or stopped
any [procedures]. If you compare this case to another case.
Are there procedures involved in that case? If there are procedures
in that case, why should this case be treated differently?"

However, Gen Prayut did not elaborate on which "other" case
he was talking about. On Tuesday, Gen Udomdej, who initiated
the park project when he was the army chief, insisted he would
stay on in the cabinet  and wait for the results of the probe being
conducted by a Defence Ministry-appointed committee.
He said he would only stay as long as necessary.

The defence inquiry is headed by deputy permanent secretary
for defence Gen Chaicharn Changmongkol. It is expected to
cover all suspected military officers and investigators will
forward cases of possible irregularities to the National
Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Office of the
Auditor-General.

Gen Prayut said if Gen Udomdej chooses to resign, his absence
from the cabinet will not affect the government or the National
 Council for Peace and Order.

Meanwhile, NACC secretary-general Sansern Poljiak said the
agency has no information about a report the army allegedly
asked the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications
Commission for a subsidy of 88 million baht to fund the
 park project.

He said any budget spending is being examined by the state
 auditor.
Mr Sansern said the NACC had not initiated any inquiry into
alleged irregularities and is waiting for findings from relevant
agencies including the auditor, the police and the Defence
 Ministry's probe committee.

However, he said the NACC has been gathering information
 about the park.

Mr Sansern dismissed as untrue criticism that the graft agency
did not have the courage to investigate a military project, saying
the agency follows regulations and criteria for launching
investigations.

Even though other state agencies cleared the park project of any irregularities, the NACC is obliged to investigate, he said.

In my opinion about the Rajabhakti Park ,there is corruption

or not the authorizes involved know it well.

As there is committee to investigate the corruption and the NACC

is obliged to investigate it also,so we should wait for the result.

As we do not know all the facts to say there is corruption or

anyone do corruption for the case ,it is not fair for them.

Sincerely Yours.
