As at Reporters day on March 5 ,question arise about the
media
and press freedom and how Thailand supposedly compares
with other countries.
Media consist of mass media and social media. In
Thaialnd
mass media is the
broader market while social media is a
niche market.All Thai people can receive mass media from
one way to another however nowadays there are many mass
media and channel
provide to meet the interesting of target
group.
These make fault for mass media since content of news
depend
on what they want people to hear with sometimes
misleading
by repoters for politics purpose.
Meanwhile social media is the alternative choice for
Thai
people who can reach internet so this market consist of
people
with medium to high education background and the content
of new are faster ,more correct and accuracy.However the
quality of social media can misleading by attitude and
opinion
of citizen reporters.
I know these because I get involve in social media over
seven
years since 2007 as I am blogger at www.oknation.net,my

Therefore the quality of mass and social media depend on
personal viewpoint of the reporter compound with orginal
affiliation.
Since there are many criticism about media ,in the plan
to
reform Thailand by The National Reform Committee there is
also a topic to reform media.
On March 4 ,2015 The Nation Reform Council’s committee
on
media reform has completed its reform framework that
focus on
people right to get news and press media’s freedom and
respects
for ethics.
Mass media also raise up Media Reform Committee which
objective is to provide trust and reliabity for media ,
It work corporate with The NRC’s committee on media
reform but does not depend on each other.
Problem of ethics, morals and respects of media inure
from capital group who want benefit for political
affairs
take part in mass media group and intervention work.
Meanwhile for social media they do not depend on other,
they work from their own interesting so they can investigate
more and provide more reliability to society.
As said above it is not imply that we only have low
quality
media ,we still have good reliable and trust media in our
country otherwise Thailand can not stand as a country.
but if we can improve all media to have freedom and
respect for trust our society will be in more better situation.
We need more investigative reporters who are honest in
their
career to provide truth ,creative trust and worthy
quality of news
to our society.With good media Thailand can develop more
with decrease of controversies,more unity and our
society
will become a livable society.
