The new Constitution is expected to include 315
articles.
The next election will have to take place within less
than
six months after the new charter is put into effect,according
to the Constitution Drafting Committee(CDC).
Base on
these conditions,the general elections of members of
parliament and senators will
have to be organized within
180 days and 240
days,respectively ,after the new constitution
is active.
Mr.Borwornsak Uwanno,CDC Chairman said that the new
Charter will grant more power to the people by bestows
the right upon the public to file on impeachment motion
againt the prime minister if he or she is found to have
violated the code of conduct.
The National Equity and Ethics Commission is expected to be
formed to do this duty.Once impeached,the prime minister
will be banned from holding political office for five
years.
Mr Borwornsak reiterated that the draft constitution
give
the highest power to the Thai citizens,ensuring and
upholding
basic human rights and freedom of express for them.
Politicians :
Although there are more than seventy political parties
in
Thailand, two major parties play the role.
Pheu Thai Party
which was found on September 20,2008.
They were the lastest government from election which
support by Red Shirts and under control of ex-fugitive
prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.
Democrat Party is
the oldest Thai political party in Thailand,
uphold a conservative,classically liberal and pro-market
position. Mr.Abhisit Vejjajiva is the party leader,
the People ‘s Demonocratic Reform Committee (PDRC)
support the Democrat Party.
Owing to the fact that two parties and two group of
people
have different political ideology and always in the
opposite
side,they always fight on each other.
From these viewpoint ,what is need is :
First, a way to manage the conflict ,not only a way to
find
settlement for the party in dispute which I think can be
solve
by the process of
The National Equity and Ethics Commission.
Second, It is not accommodation of interests of the two
parties or various political groups or catering to their
immediate demands to resolve the problem but it is how to
decrease the injustice in economic and social area
including
not to let other parties to take adventage on the other
parties.
Third,All parties must consider for commom interest
instead
of personal interest.
With the goal of the new constitution to give the
highest
power to the Thai citizens including basic human rights
and
freedom of express. I think these are a basic standardization
of true democracy and all controversies will
decrease which
will lead to
Stability,Prosperity and Sustainability in Thai society
and these environment will provide peace and true
democracy
to our country in the long run.
